Management

CTC Cable Corporation is run by a dedicated, highly capable management team, with decades of experience in the development, growth and operation of technology companies. The staff includes exceptional experience in the development and use of composite materials and the application of those materials to real world problems. The team has guided CTC Cable through the process of product development, manufacturing, product placement, customer acceptance and now rapid sales growth, with their combined skills in business, technical, application, and marketing.
 

Management Team

Benton Wilcoxon – Chairman

Benton H. Wilcoxon, Chairman of CTC Cable Corporation

Mr. Wilcoxon is Chairman of CTC Cable Corporation, as well as the Chairman and CEO of Composite Technology Corporation, which owns CTC Cable. He founded the company after observing the market need for a superior conductor product in overhead transmission lines. He has over twenty years experience in commercializing technologies and building companies, including over thirteen years as President or CEO of public companies, specializing in the business development, structuring, and commercialization of advanced technologies, new materials and processes. During the last decade, he arranged early stage financing for several projects organized by TMA Ventures including: a Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology spin out from Sandia National Laboratories, known as MEMX Inc; Peak Sensors, advanced process controls technology for etch chambers from Sandia National Laboratories, and an advanced materials company known as Superior MicroPowders. Mr. Wilcoxon was a Director and Chief Technology Consultant of Magnesium Alloy Corporation, a Canadian company with magnesium and energy projects in the Republic of Congo, Africa, using cost-effective Russian and Ukrainian magnesium processing technologies, solution mining technology from Kavernen Bau-und Betriebs-GmbH, and feasibility engineering by Salzgitter Anlagenbau GmbH. Mr. Wilcoxon was one of the founders of Ashurst Technology Corporation in 1991, which became a public company known as Ashurst Ltd., listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, where he served as a Director, President, and later the CEO and Chairman. Ashurst was involved in advanced materials technologies from Ukraine, principally the development of ultra-high strength scandium-aluminum alloys and metal ceramic composites. These were licensed to Easton Sports and Kaiser Aluminum and formed the basis for the highly successful launch of high-end “Redline” series baseball and softball bats, as well as race-winning scandium road and mountain bikes.

Stewart Ramsay – President

Stewart Ramsay, President of CTC Cable Corporation

Mr. Ramsay is an experienced leader with a strong technical, operational and consultant background in utilities and smart grid technologies. Mr. Ramsay has broad experience in the global Utility Industry. He is the former Vice President of Asset Management and Electric Transmission for Pacific Gas and Electric. He has over 27 years in the industry, and his breadth of experience ranges from strategy and governance to engineering, construction, operations, and performance improvement for transmission, distribution, customer service and generation for gas and electric utilities. He has contributed to the development of regulatory strategy at both a national (FERC) and state level, including giving expert witness testimony before FERC and several State Utility Commissions on transmission access and territorial boundaries. At both American Electric Power and Pacific Gas and Electric, Mr. Ramsay was heavily involved in innovative approaches to modernizing the grid. He has been a strong proponent of the creation of adaptive, self-healing grids using a range of smart grid technologies on both the utility and customer side of the meter. Mr. Ramsay served on the Board of the WECC and for 2 ½ years as the WECC representative to the NERC MRC. Mr. Ramsay was a member of the California Energy Commission’s Public Interest Energy Research Program’s Policy Advisory Committee, where he was a proponent of rapid development and deployment of intelligent technologies. Mr. Ramsay serves on the Board of expert advisors to the California Emerging Technology Fund and on the Board of Coro, Northern California.

John P. Brewster – Special Advisor to the CEO

John P. Brewster, Special Advisor to the CEO

Mr. Brewster assumed the position of Chief Commercial Officer and President of CTC Cable Corporation in Dec. 2009. Mr. Brewster has over thirty years of accomplished experience within the power industry. He is highly knowledgeable in all aspects of the power industry and early stage startup companies. Mr. Brewster held the position of EVP and Chief Operating Officer of Calera Corporation a Khosla Venture funded Startup Company that is dedicated to reversing global warming by capturing and storing greenhouse gasses in the build environment. He also served as EVP Plant Operations and Development Engineering, Procurement and Construction Division for NRG Energy Inc. There he was responsible for the implementation of the new build and repower program along with plant operations worldwide. Mr. Brewster has served on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Recovery Authority after Hurricane Katrina, and Mibrag a German coal company.

Domonic J. Carney – Chief Financial Officer

DJ Carney, Chief Financial Officer, as well as being the CFO of Composite Technology Corporation, has over fifteen years of professional finance, operations and accounting experience with a proven track record in both early stage startup and publicly traded technology and distribution companies. Mr. Carney has demonstrated the ability to build sound financial reporting and scalable business systems necessary to meet the needs of high growth companies. Mr. Carney is a CPA with substantial experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, M&A, and both venture and public financings. Prior to joining CTC, he was Director of Finance for Danka Office Imaging, a publicly traded distributor of networked office equipment. He also served as Vice President of Finance and Administration for Andale, Inc. an eBay auction tools company, as Director of Finance for SoftNet Systems, Inc., a publicly traded Internet access company and as an auditor with Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Carney has a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College, and a Masters in Accounting from Northeastern University.

David Bryant – Vice President of Technology Adoption

David C. Bryant, Vice President of Technology Adoption, CTC Cable Corporation, has over twenty-five years of experience in the composites industry. Prior to joining CTC in March of 2003, Mr. Bryant served as Vice President of Engineering for American Structural Composites, Inc., a company he co-founded in 1995. During the earlier 1990's he served as Executive Vice President of Nevatech Industries, Inc. a defense contractor specializing in aerospace components and radomes. Prior to 1990, Mr. Bryant worked as a design engineer specializing in composite structures that included aircraft, watercraft, automotive, and other industrial applications. In 1999, Mr. Bryant received the Composite Industries' highest accolade, "The Award for Composites Excellence," after introducing his patented building technology to an international market.

Kevin Price – Director of Operations

Kevin Price, Director of Operations, CTC Cable Corporation, assumed the position of Director of Operations of CTC Cable in March 2010. Mr. Price has over 20 years experience in General Management and Operations for complex manufacturing companies in several industries. He has a strong track record of transforming manufacturing companies into high performing and highly profitable organizations utilizing world class manufacturing concepts such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Prior to joining CTC Cable Mr. Price served as VP Operations and General Manager of ASML Thermal Division, a semi conductor capital equipment design and manufacturing company, Corporate VP of Operation for Master Halco, a large fencing products manufacturing and distribution company, and VP Operations for RGB Spectrum, a leading designer and manufacturer of videographic products for audio-visual, industrial, medical, and military applications. Mr. Price received a BSET Degree from Cal Poly Pomona and an MBA from the University of La Verne.

Dominic Majendie – Vice President of International Marketing

Dominic J. Majendie, Vice President of International Marketing, CTC Cable Corporation, originally trained in law in Geneva, Switzerland before spending seventeen years working in the management of high growth technology and telecommunications companies in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Mr. Majendie has held a variety of senior managerial positions, including Chairman of the Board, Managing Director, Marketing Manager, Legal Counsel and Financial Director. He is known for his analysis and ability to formulate and execute difficult strategic plans in a variety of industries and markets. He has been instrumental in formulating the strategy for the introduction of ACCC® conductors. He lives in Europe and speaks four languages.

Pat Avery – Vice President of North American Sales

Pat Avery, Vice President of North American Sales, CTC Cable Corporation, has over twenty-five years executive sales and marketing experience in the power industry, having worked for Westinghouse, ABB and Cooper Power Systems. Mr. Avery has extensive international experience used to evaluate new markets, potential acquisitions and execute localization strategies. One of his primary roles has been to analyze an organization's capabilities, identify deficiencies for improvement and transform technical expertise into innovative and competitive customer solutions to improve customer service. Pat received a BS Engineering Technology degree from Cornell University and a Masters of Management degree from Northwestern University.

Donald W. Douglas – Vice President of External Affairs

Donald W. Douglas, Vice President of External Affairs, CTC Cable Corporation, has over thirty years of engineering and management experience in planning, design, construction and operations for electric transmission and distribution lines and substations with FirstEnergy Corp. He brings to CTC Cable a wealth of practical knowledge about transmission line planning and design that is very useful to customers considering ACCC™ conductor. His work in transmission policy and strategy provided Don with extensive experience with ISOs and regulatory affairs, having been involved directly at the executive level with development of the Midwest ISO and the Alliance RTO project. Don holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.

David Ayers – Director of Field Applications

David L. Ayers, Director of Field Applications, CTC Cable Corporation is a seasoned executive with forty-three years experience in electrical transmission/distribution construction and the electrical utility industry with proven accomplishments in field application, safety and business development. He develops and implements training programs in safety and installation of medium and high voltage conductors used throughout the world to electrical utilities, engineering firms, and electrical construction companies.
